In French cities there is no access to the Internet. The cause of the outage is most likely the breaking of several cables by vandals, AFP reported.

During the night, in quick succession, around 3.20, 3.40 and 5.20, several cables of fiber optic networks connecting the Internet infrastructure of major cities in France were damaged. Problems with access to the Internet have mainly residents of the northern and eastern parts of the country.

These were the cables connecting Paris with Strasbourg, Lyon and Lille. The first to be eliminated was the Paris-Lyon line, followed by Paris-Strasbourg and Paris-Lille.

So far, it has not been possible to determine who exactly is responsible for the cable breakage. Neither the Interior Ministry nor the police have addressed the situation. According to information obtained from telecommunications industry representatives, it was an act of vandalism.

Repair of damage, which will allow the return of normal use of the network, will take place no earlier than the evening.
