The train with Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczyński and the prime ministers of Slovenia and the Czech Republic has already crossed the Polish-Ukrainian border and is heading for Kiev, head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister Michał Dworczyk said. He added that directional decisions regarding the trip were made at the European Council summit in Versailles.

About an hour ago, the train carrying Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, Deputy Prime Minister for Security Jaroslaw Kaczynski and the Czech and Slovenian prime ministers crossed the Polish-Ukrainian border. The delegation is heading to Kiev,” Dworczyk stated during a press briefing.

He added that the delegation will hold talks with the Ukrainian president and prime minister there. – The delegation de facto represents the European Union, the European Council,” he said.

He also informed that the visit had been prepared for many days, but kept in strict secrecy. – The directional decisions regarding the trip were made at the Versailles summit, among the most important European leaders. Then Prime Minister Morawiecki in coordination with Deputy Prime Minister Kaczynski prepared the visit, which is just starting today,” Dworczyk said.

The danger that has to be taken in such situations is something inevitable, Dworczyk said. – Here, after analysis at the level of not only Poland, because as you can see, this delegation is international, a decision was made that such a trip must be conducted. We cannot allow the Russians to continue these criminal actions on Ukrainian territory,” he noted.

Dworczyk announced that a joint conference of prime ministers of Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovenia and Ukraine is planned in Kiev. In Kiev, in addition to a strong signal of support from the entire European Union for the struggling Ukraine, the heads of government will present a package of concrete support for Ukraine.
