Footage of Russian military columns being shot from Turkish Bayraktar drones has circulated the world and has drawn attention to the effectiveness of these weapons. Wojciech Skurkiewicz, the deputy minister of national defense, announced that the Polish army would use them in 2023, although there had been earlier talk of 2022.

On Wednesday, the Ukrainian military once again showed proof of the effectiveness of Bayraktar TB2 drones.

As komputer-swiat.pl explained, the Bayraktar TB2 is a BSP (unmanned aerial system) type drone, usually designed for constant observation of terrain. In Ukraine, it is used to carry out attacks on columns of vehicles and it works very well indeed for this purpose. The maximum flight length of this unmanned aircraft is 27 hours, the maximum speed is 220 km/h.

Bayraktars are also to be delivered to the Polish army. Earlier it was mentioned 2022, but according to Wojciech Skurkiewicz, Deputy Minister of Defense, it will happen in 2023.

“We see which areas need to be particularly invested in, which need to be modernized. If only this issue of unmanned aerial vehicles. Please note what havoc the Turkish Bayraktars are wreaking in Russia. We purchased them in May last year, and it was met with huge criticism from the opposition. The Bayraktars will equip the Polish army in 2023. At the end of this year the Polish army will be equipped with two Patriot missile batteries,” Skurkiewicz said on Radio Plus in the program “Sedno sprawy”.
